Molly is currently in one of her infrequent but welcome affectionate periods. Why, just this morning, as I was waking up, she jumped up onto the bed and sat down next to me, purring. When I started to pet her she purred even louder. Then just a few minutes ago I scooped her off the kitchen floor — an action which would normally elicit angry yowls — and she settled comfortably in my arms, purring again, and let me rub her belly for a good two minutes.
