The cats are going through some rough times at the moment. Indeed, perhaps their worst fear has come to pass: dogs have infested the house! As a result of the increase in doggie population, there has been far more chasing, hissing and scratching than is usual. The cats spend much of their time prowling and cowering. Molly is particularly amusing. Her exaggerated caution is downright ridiculous; whenever she ventures toward the living-room (where the dogs congregate) she creeps along at such a slow, careful pace that crossing the kitchen takes about a minute. It’s like she’s moving in slow-motion, ooonnne… fffoooooot… aaafffterrr… theee… oootherrr…
